Facilities
The school is situated on the Heiderhof hill, a quiet residential area of Bad Godesberg, which overlooks the city of Bonn and the Rhine river. The buildings are situated in pleasant, rural surroundings, yet only five minutes by car from the town centre of Bad Godesberg and some 20 minutes from the centre of Bonn. The school is very close to the excellent public bus service with the regular buses stopping very near to the school. These buses connect with the U-Bahn (Underground) at the Stadthalle or Rheinallee, and Bad Godesberg railway station.
Each age group has its own classroom (maximum number of pupils usually 22), and additionally we have:
- Individual rooms for English as an Additional Language (EAL) and foreign languages.
- A fully-equipped science laboratory.
- A fully-equipped computer room with additional computers in classrooms.
- A multi-sensory whiteboard for each year group.
- A well equipped kitchen for home economics.
- A well stocked library with over 5,000 books and digital media.
- A school hall used for whole school assemblies, drama, concerts and meetings.
- Administrative offices.
- A comfortable reception area.
- A medical room for children who become ill during the day.
- Smaller classrooms for group learning.
- Hot lunch programme for those who wish to partake.
Physical education (P.E.) and sports take place in a modern and fully-equipped sports hall situated three minutes' walk from the school. This is shared with our neighbouring German primary school, with which we have various links. The youngest children in the school do their P.E. in our own school hall.
We have a large hard-surfaced playground as well as grassed areas. These provide splendid recreational facilities and can be used for outdoor sports. There are different climbing frames, including a large wooden construction generously donated by the PTA.
The school also has access to a local sports ground and tennis courts five minutes away. Years 3 to 6 are taken by bus to the local swimming pool for lessons.
