We have been part of the 'IBIS family' for 3 1/2 years. We received excellent references from colleagues and people around the area. From the beginning we had a great feeling. We felt welcomed and found both a very qualified staff in all areas and a sense of community. As our daughter Laura progressed in her education, we could sense how happy, encouraged and motivated she was to come to school everyday. She just loved it and that has not changed, regardless of the teacher, classroom or new friends. The school has high standards for the academics but also the way children develop a sense of respect, collaboration and self-esteem through time is a big asset. The parents association is very active. If you want you will always find a committee or group where you will feel welcomed and useful to the community. If not, great friendships will develop as our children will build the bridges across culture, age and time. IBIS has been a very fulfilling experience for all of us.
The Golightly Family
We are sincerely grateful for the wonderful experience which the IBIS staff provided to our two boys during our years in Germany. Your level of organization and administration was just the beginning, but it provided a comfortable, reliable framework for students and parents alike. You and your staff provided a tremendous environment of care and concern for all of the children. No matter the issue, we saw you consistently apply the same standards to every child, and we saw that you always resolved problems with the children's best interests in mind. We saw that you made the efforts necessary to provide a rich, broad-based, challenging curriculum as well as offering many extra-curricular activities during lunchtime and after school. Most important to our family, was the incredible maturity and professionalism displayed by the IBIS teaching staff. Whether a homeroom teacher, an assistant, or a "specials" teacher for music, art, or German, the IBIS staff members brought a huge quantity of experience, wisdom, preparation and care to their students. While we valued some teachers more for their academics, some for their nurturing attitudes, and some for their combination of the two, ALL the teachers we encountered at IBIS were gifted in their ability to open children's minds, even when those children came from a multitude of countries and cultures. We will always be grateful to those teachers who touched our sons' lives and we thank the Headmistress and the school governing board for the tremendous leadership which they bring to the school. Our children had a wonderful experience at IBIS and were very well prepared academically when they returned to their home country.
The Shore Family
Kate and Matthew attended IBIS from 2000 until 2004, and it has proved to be a wonderful foundation for them now they are back in England. These are just some of the highlights:
Small class size giving plenty of individual attention
A very caring friendly atmosphere
Excellent investment in technology (Kate still talks about how much IT she learned with Paul Mayell.)
A great international mix, encouraging sharing of different cultures and ideas
Kate and Matthew were always encouraged to do their best without feeling under pressure. One example of this is in the music assemblies where all the children, irrespective of their ability, were made to feel like concert pianists. One of Matthew's favourite memories from IBIS was playing his guitar in assembly, with all the children clapping along to 'We will rock you'. (Thank you, David Hayes!)
Thank you so much IBIS and long may your success continue!

At IBIS, our children receive a solid basis for further academic challenges. Equally important is that they learn to appreciate cultural diversity as enriching their lives. In addition to this they are offered guidance for their own contributing role and social responsiveness in our society. IBIS has a great culture and very committed teachers.
Doug Wood - Programme Director, Visteon (Ford)
Everyone in the Wood family is doing well and both Alex and Eliza have made a great transition back into the US school system…. a tribute to the solid education and nurturing they received at IBIS during the past four years.
Gary D. Benfield - Headmaster, Berlin British School
Pupils from IBIS are quietly confident with their peers and adults, polite at all times and above all else, well prepared to face new academic challenges. In addition, they have been well taught, have a firm grasp of the basics and yet have a depth and breadth of general knowledge. What they have received at IBIS is not only thorough and safe, but has also imparted a certain love for learning and a respect for the work ethic.
