This school year has seen the launch of our Community Connection Cafe, a series designed for IBIS parents and guardians to connect with one another, receive helpful guidance and share their own experiences about a certain topic. The first session focused on developing self-esteem and confidence.
Self-esteem refers to the way that we think and feel about ourselves and is an important ingredient for positive mental health and wellbeing. When we have high self-esteem, we are able to be more resilient in the face of challenges, like those often faced at school and beyond.
Thank you to all the parents who came and contributed to the session, and to our awesome Wellbeing Team who prepared the session.
You can download the handout that was shared at the session here. It includes:
- Positive daily practices and tips for developing a culture of confidence.
- Book recommendations (for kids and adults).
- Age-appropriate chores for kids (and how they can have a positive impact on self-esteem and confidence).
